Car craned out of roadside ditch
THE Cannonvale intersection of Shute Harbour Road and Paluma Road was the scene of a single vehicle car crash last Thursday morning.
The 39-year-old woman was driving a silver BMW when she turned left at the intersection from Paluma road onto Shute Harbour Road and veered off the road coming to rest in the roadside ditch in front of McDonalds Restaurant between 8am and 9.30am.
No-one was injured in Thursday’s crash but the BMW had to be lifted from the ditch by Cranes Whitsunday.
Officer in charge and acting senior sergeant Simon Walters said most intersections had acci- dents of this nature and urged drivers to take due care when entering or leaving an intersection.
He said it was unclear what caused the crash.
The woman was issued with an infringement notice for failing to have proper control of the vehicle and was fined $256.
