Car craned out of road­side ditch

THE Cannonvale in­ter­sec­tion of Shute Har­bour Road and Paluma Road was the scene of a sin­gle ve­hi­cle car crash last Thurs­day morn­ing.

The 39-year-old woman was driv­ing a sil­ver BMW when she turned left at the in­ter­sec­tion from Paluma road onto Shute Har­bour Road and veered off the road com­ing to rest in the road­side ditch in front of McDon­alds Restau­rant be­tween 8am and 9.30am.

No-one was in­jured in Thurs­day’s crash but the BMW had to be lifted from the ditch by Cranes Whit­sun­day.

Of­fi­cer in charge and act­ing se­nior sergeant Si­mon Wal­ters said most in­ter­sec­tions had acci- dents of this na­ture and urged driv­ers to take due care when en­ter­ing or leav­ing an in­ter­sec­tion.

He said it was un­clear what caused the crash.

The woman was is­sued with an in­fringe­ment no­tice for fail­ing to have proper con­trol of the ve­hi­cle and was fined $256.
