New president for Rotary
CHRISTOPHER HARVEY is the new president of the Proserpine Rotary Club.
The club’s annual change-over dinner was held at the Metropole Hotel on Saturday night.
Special guests included Mayor Jennifer Whitney, Rotary’s assistant District Governor for 9550 Merewyn Wright, past District Governor Mitch Clarke and youth exchange student Alina Rosenthal.
Members of the Airlie Beach and Bowen Rotary Clubs, Proserpine Lions Club, Whitsunday Probus Club and Quota Club were also in attendance.
Mr Harvey replaced Nathan Blain who was the former president.
Dale Anderson (secretary) and Fay- lene Cooke (treasurer) were announced as board members, taking over from Jeff Boyle and Mitch Clark.
“The things I would like to see happen at the club in my 12 months are growth in membership numbers and more events in the community,” Mr Harvey said.
Youth exchange student Alina Rosenthal has almost completed her 12 months with the club and returns home to Germany this Saturday.
“We would like to thank the host families that she has stayed with over here. The Hinschen family, David and Faylene Cooke, the Doherty family, the Wheeler family, Tammy Uebergang, the Blain family and the Cooke family,” Mr Harvey said.
