Fundrais­ing din­ner for Air­lie’s Heart of the Reef cam­paign

TOURISM or­gan­i­sa­tion SKAL is con­tin­u­ing the Air­lie Beach – Heart of the Reef cam­paign and is hold­ing a fundrais­ing din­ner this Fri­day night, July 19.

The fundraiser will be a pro­gres­sive din­ner start­ing at Cac­tus Jack’s at 6.30pm for canapes/en­trees, then mov­ing across to Man­grove Jacks around 7.30pm – 8pm for all you can eat pizza and dessert.

There will be an auc­tion fol­low­ing the din­ner with prizes in­clud­ing a cock­tail party to be hosted at your house val­ued at $1500, an Air Whit­sun­day panoramic tour val­ued at $950 and a Cruise Whit­sun­day’s trip to the reef val­ued at $549.

The ma­jor­ity of the funds raised will go to­wards the on­go­ing cam­paign in­clud­ing bill­boards for the Bruce High- way as well as other ideas in­clud­ing sig­nage at the Whit­sun­day Coast Air­port.

Skal Whit­sun­days is also host­ing the or­gan­i­sa­tion’s national Assem­bly in town for the first time in Septem­ber and some of the money will go to­wards sup­port­ing that ini­tia­tive.

Del­e­gates from Skal clubs all around Aus­tralia will come to Air­lie Beach for the assem­bly and will at­tend a wel­come cock­tail party and a gala din­ner on Day­dream Is­land.

It is ex­pected to at­tract about 100 del­e­gates.

The cost of Fri­day night’s fundraiser is $45 per per­son which in­cludes the din­ner and a wel­come drink upon ar­rival. Book­ings are es­sen­tial and can be made by call­ing the Air­lie Beach Ho­tel on 4964 1999.
