Fun night out to help cancer research
BREAST cancer research will be the big winner when the Reef Gateway Hotel hosts its Girls’ Night in event on Friday, October 25.
Whitsunday resident Shelley Trimble and Jessica Stafford have both previously held Girls' Night In and pink ribbon events at home and thought it would be a great idea to join forces to organise a big event for the public this year.
Acclaimed comedy group Puppetry of the Penis will provide entertainment on the night and the 18+ event is shaping up as a great night for a great cause.
Ms Stafford said what started as small talk one day has now turned into a huge event.
“We have both had loved ones affected by cancer, as most of us have been in some way. This is a fantastic way to raise funds for the Cancer Council,” she said.
“Already we have had so much interest for our event and we are so excited to be able to hold a function that will be a great women's cancer awareness opportunity, all while having fun with your girlfriends.”.
The event will feature talks from health professionals including Rowena Kissun form Whitsunday Health Clinic, canapés and champagne on arrival, wine-tasting and modelling.
There will also be auction items up for grabs, lucky door prizes and a huge raffle and the dress code for the night is cocktail with a splash of pink.
Any local businesses that wish to help support this event in any way should contact Shelley Trimble on 0406 245 885 or Jessica Stafford on 0433 993 435.
