Great turn-out for ju­nior tour­na­ment

MORE than sixty ju­nior ten­nis play­ers braved the wet weather to com­pete at the Proser­pine Ju­nior De­vel­op­ment Se­ries (JDS) tour­na­ment on the week­end.

Games were fre­quently de­layed due to rain and play­ers lost count of the num­ber of times the courts had to be dried off.

All the Proser­pine ju­niors gave their very best and en­joyed play­ing in front of fam­ily and friends af­ter trav­el­ling to JDS tour­na­ments right across North Queens­land. Play­ers will con­tinue to train ahead of the fi­nal JDS meets of the year in Ing­ham and Ayr in the com­ing weeks.

Ju­nior fix­tures con­tinue at 3.30pm on Mon­days and so­cial ten­nis for all ages is avail­able on Satur­days at 2.30pm.
