Half the jackpot was shared by two teams John Fornasiero, Chris Frazer and Geoff Walk (visitor) and Dom Sposato.

There was no business house bowls last week due to the state of origin and this weeks game was played on Tuesday night. Charter Yachts Australia are in first place, followed by Porters and then the Tradies.

On Saturday, the men’s open singles were played at the club and Bob McMahon defeated Kevin Jewell 25-16, David Dias defeated James Argo 25-8 and Nathan Harriot defeated Andy Bell 25-16.

Sunday was a busy day with full rinks for all the triple games.

The winners on the day were Judi Wright (visitor), David Stock and Lyn Boxer (visitor) who defeated David Carlin, Richard Whitehouse and Henny Tattam 16-8. On the next rink was a fours game between David Zimmerman, Howard Moulang, Betty Holness and Blanche Woodbury (visitor) who beat Clive Wheeler, Mae Secomb, Keith Beetham and Steve Tatam 16-8.

On the next rink Nik Fernbach, Ron Spence, Chris Frazer (visitor) and Peter Lawton defeated Jo Howes, Peggy Wheeler, Dom Sposato and Leslie Carlin 15-9 and then on the last rink Col Howes, Noela Whitehouse and Betty Nicolle defeated Terry O’Callaghan, Doreen Whitehouse and Maureen Barnard 14-10.

The ladies are playing in the Johnston Shield in Sarina on Tuesday and, if they win on Tuesday, Wednesday also.

The club welcomed visitors from down south Blanche Woodbury, Terry O’Callaghan, Lyn Boxer and Lesley and David Carlin (past members) as well as Chris Frazer and Peggy and Clive Wheeler from Adelaide and Judi Wright from Nambucca Heads NSW.

Players are encouraged to check the board for club matches regularly and arrange their games accordingly.
