Action-packed agenda ahead for sailing club
THE Whitsunday Sailing Club has an actionpacked few weeks’ of sailing ahead in the lead-up to Airlie Beach Race Week from August 9-16.
First on the agenda is a Laser training camp on July 27 and 28.
Yachting Queensland will send top coach Danny Fuller to train participating local juniors and adults throughout this weekend-long event.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, July 28, the off beach winter championship is set to continue, with two races starting at 2pm.
For offshore sailors, the NQ Telecom Challengers Cup will be held on Sunday, August 4. This is the second last Challengers Cup for the year, with the final one scheduled for September 22.
The Cock of Gloucester will also be held on July 27 and 28, hosted by the North Queensland Cruising Yacht Club.
The jewel in the crown, the Abell Point Marina Airlie Beach Race Week 2013, is just over two weeks’ away, with registrations to take place on Friday, August 9.
