Bridal expo a success
LOCAL models dressed in stunning bridal couture and gorgeous party frocks were the star attraction of the Coral Sea Resort’s Wedding Expo on Sunday.
The models hit the elegant white runway in designs by local couture designer Kim Harris from Kim Marcel Art of Couture and local store Lotus Boutique. The wedding expo was Ms Harris’s second fashion show in the Whitsundays.
“I think the show was really good, I felt a lot more relaxed and the models did a great job walking down the stunning runway of Coral Sea Resort,” she said.
“Lotus Boutique started the show off beautifully with some great dresses that are a little bit different and perfect for special occasions.”
Wedding and event sales co-ordinator Lauren Wilson said more than 300 people walked through the doors for the highly anticipated event.
“It has been fantastic seeing it all come together and I think the exhibitors have really stepped it up in decorating their stalls and bringing a great sense of individuality to their work.”
Bride-to-be De-ann Jeffery travelled from Mackay for the event and was blown away by the spectacular location and professionalism of exhibitors. “I am getting married next year and will definitely be considering a Whitsunday wedding,” she said. Kim Marcel Art of Couture is designing the gown that Miss Great Britain Joanna Hill will be wearing to the Miss Global 2013 pageant in Los Angles this month.
