Jamieson on top in monthly medal
TWENTY-FOUR players turned out for the July monthly medal competition last Sunday.
Most players had completed the course but a few returned a little wet.
The overnight rain had reduced the run on the fairways and greens making low scores a little harder to achieve in the run up to the Proserpine open competitions next weekend.
A grade was won by Ron Jamieson on nett 72 ahead of runner-up Mick Caton on 73 while Ross Richards had the best gross score.
Brad Hammond took out B grade on 69, ahead of Beryl Miller on nett 71 who took second on a count back from Brendan Meharry.
Dean Kercher had the best gross score.
Wilf Herweg was the C grade winner on 76 and Reg Kercher was the runner-up on nett 80 on a count back from Jacqui Wall, while the best gross score came from Tiina Randmae.
Longest drives came from Ross Richards (A grade), Adam Stralow (B grade), Reg Kercher (C grade) and Anna Winterbourn (ladies).
Nearest-the-pins in A/B grade were Ross Richards on hole 2, Scott Wardroper on 9, Geoff Harrison on 13 and Mark Winter on 16.
C grade nearest-the- pins were Ian Giles on 9 and 16 and Wilf Herweg on 13.
Nearest-the-pins for the ladies were Beryl Miller on hole 9, Rhonda Gurd on 13, who birdied the par 3 hole and Tessa Aitken on 16.
Next Sunday will be a lay day because of the Proserpine men’s open competition.
