Turbine troubles

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

THROUGH your paper I would like draw residents’ attention to the implications of a recent Whitsunday Regional Council decision to approve the erection of a wind powered turbine on a residential block at Dingo Beach.

The turbine stands approximately 14 meters above the natural ground level and depending on wind strength can be noisy. The implications of council’s decision is that anyone can erect one of these turbines on any block of land at any height anywhere in the shire.

Think about what the impact would be on land valuations should one of these be erected in front of, alongside of or behind you. Frank Spencer Dingo Beach
