Fresh face for Frocktails
CANNONVALE resident Erin Pearce is the Face of Frocktails for 2013 and will feature on the catwalk at the popular Whitsunday Reef Festival event on Friday, August 16.
Competition judge and Tropix Photography co-owner Debbie Savy said the 30-year-old mum was chosen as this year’s modelling competition winner for a variety of reasons.
“We were looking for someone with that community spirit and she really has that, [plus] she’s very much the demographic of the people that go to Frocktails as well,” Ms Savy said.
“There are some people who don’t know how beautiful they are and she is one of them.”
When asked why she wanted to win the competition, Erin’s answer said it all.
“I think winning is not the important thing here, but having fun and loving life in the Whitsundays and expressing that to other people through modelling is,” she said.
As a student, who also works part-time at Marino’s Deli in the Whitsunday Shopping Centre, Erin said she was looking forward to modelling all the beautiful gowns from local fashion houses and “just being a part of the event”.
This year’s Frocktails event will also feature a special guest appearance by Australian en- tertainer Timomatic on the night. The Australia’s Got Talent star will be mingling with Frocktails guests before joining host Racheal Klitscher from Tourism Queensland on stage to assist with presenting.
Tickets to Frocktails are available online from Whitsunday Tickets from $65 per person, which includes a welcome drink, canapés and the very best of Whitsunday fashion on the runway at Deja Vu Restaurant in Airlie Beach.
