Whitsunday riders thrive at club day
MOTORBIKE riders of all ages were in action as the Whitsunday Dirt Riders held a club day on Sunday at the Dray’s Park complex just outside of Proserpine.
President of the Whitsunday Dirt Riders Kev Burgess said there were more than 50 riders involved on the day with visitors coming from Mackay, Townsville and surrounding areas for the race meet. “It’s always good to host a club race day where our riders can get the chance to compete against each other and visiting riders. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we have another dirt track event scheduled for October,” he said.
“Our committee has found that we are able to host our own race meets this year without the support of other clubs and the local riders love racing on their home track.”
Burgess said anyone who has might have a dirt bike or mini bikes in their garage to get involved with the club and come have a ride and enjoy the club atmosphere at their practices every Sunday.
The club wished to thank all the volunteers, track officials, canteen helpers, riders and spectators that came along to make another great weekend of racing in the Whitsundays.
The next club day is on Sunday, October 20.
