Cadets enjoy weekend camp
THE Whitsunday Navy cadets enjoyed an actionpacked weekend on the water as they camped out for two nights on the Whitsunday Sailing Club grounds.
A total of 18 naval cadets spent the weekend at the sailing club where they kayaked all day Saturday and spent Sunday sailing as part of their monthly camp.
Anita Pender was one of the parent helpers and said that all of the cadets had a great time camping out at the sailing club.
“Everyone really enjoyed themselves and they were all keen to get out on the water,” she said.
“We try and get out and do water activities as much as possible and it’s so good to have a great spot like the sailing club right on our doorstep. Everything went well, the weather was fantastic and hopefully we can come back sometime in the future for another camp.” For more information on how to become involved contact the Whitsunday Navy Cadets on 0402 479 483 or visit www.navycadets.gov.au.
