Gun­ders on Gold Coast Suns’ radar

WHIT­SUN­DAY Sea Ea­gles player Eli Gun­ders has once again been se­lected to play for the Gold Coast Suns acad­emy at a car­ni­val against ri­val AFL team academies in Coffs Har­bour next month.

Eli joins Mackay’s Nick Kempe and Bo Saun­ders as the three play­ers from the Mackay com­pe­ti­tion to be se­lected in the un­der-15s Suns acad­emy team which will face off against acad­emy sides from the Bris­bane Lions, Syd­ney Swans and Greater Western Syd­ney Gi­ants.

He played with the un­der 14s Suns acad­emy team last year and said he was ex­cited to be se­lected again.

“It was a re­ally good ex­pe­ri­ence and I’m keen to play along some of the boys from last year.”

Mackay AFL re­gional man­ager David Hard­ing said it was a great ef­fort from the boys and he con­grat­u­lated all the coaches and clubs in­volved.
