V-strom touches down in Australia

Whitsunday Times - - MOTORING -

THE latest version of Suzuki's best-selling, go-anywhere adventure tourer, the V-Strom 650, has touched down in Australia.

A perfect fit for riders wanting a multipurpose machine as capable on the streets as it is on outback roads, the Suzuki VStrom 650 offers extreme versatility to suit the Australian terrain and lifestyle.

Suzuki Australia motorcycles marketing manager Lewis Croft said there was no mystery why the Suzuki V-Strom 650 was the best-selling adventure tourer in the country last year.

"The V-Strom 650 continues to set the benchmark in adventure tourers with its focus on rider comfort and advanced technology," he said.

The fuel-injected 645cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 90-degree, V-Twin engine delivers when the rider demands, with great low-to-mid-rpm range torque and sporty quick-revving high rpm power for full-range riding enjoyment.

Tailored for active sporty riders, the six-speed transmission optimises power delivery while also ensuring outstanding fuel economy.

Rider comfort remains a priority in the latest V-Strom 650, with three-way height-adjustable windscreen to efficiently reduce wind noise and rider fatigue.

The V-Strom 650 features a well-shaped functional seat, a slim 20-litre fuel tank and compactly tucked-in frame covers to make the rider feel at one with the machine.

Its user-friendly chassis, built around a lightweight and rigid twin-spar aluminium-alloy frame and swingarm, delivers a comfortable performance package for enjoyable adventure touring rides.

An upright riding position, long-stroke front and rear suspension and lightweight aluminium-alloy wheels with specifically designed tyres complete the suspension package.

The V-Strom 650's Antilock Braking System ensures ultimate traction on the road, with the brakes monitoring input and wheel speed, matching stopping power to available traction.

Allowing riders to track their progress easily, the VStrom 650's easy-to-read multi- function instrument cluster combines an analogue tachometer with a large brightness adjustable LCD, with readouts including gear position, ambient temperature and average fuel consumption, in addition to speed, odometer, dual trip meter and more.

For further information, customers should visit participating Suzuki dealers, who can be found via the Dealer Locator on www.suzuki.com.au.

GO ANYWHERE: Suzuki's best-selling adventure tourer, the V-Strom 650, has touched down in Australia and is a perfect fit for riders wanting a multipurpose machine.
