Fam­ily fun at ten­nis round robin

WHIT­SUN­DAY TEN­NIS

THE fam­ily round robin held ear­lier in the month and was a suc­cess with some great ten­nis be­ing played.

Win­ners in di­vi­sion 1 were the fa­ther and son team of Stan and Darcy Larkin.

In di­vi­sion 2 brother and sis­ter com­bi­na­tion Ge­or­gia and Rhys Furhmann took first and in di­vi­sion 3, mum and son pair­ing of Kim Lind­sey and Hay­den Lind­sey-Will­mott fin­ished on top.

The club will be hold­ing an­other any com­bi­na­tion goes round robin in early Septem­ber.

In other news Mon­day ju­nior so­cial ten­nis had a big roll up of young play­ers all tak­ing to the courts and mak­ing the most of the pleas­ant weather con­di­tions.

All play­ers on the af­ter­noon made an im­pact on the small courts.

On the full size courts it was the girls out in full force with Cait­lyn Lind­sey-Wil­mott, Hay­ley Den­meade, Re­beka Bev­eridge, Sarah David­son and Si­enna Mau wel­com­ing new­comer Sa­mara Gra­ham.

So­cial ten­nis was well at­tended on Satur­day af­ter­noon and Tues­day af­ter­noon.

It was the ladies who led the way with won­der­ful ral­ly­ing skills on both af­ter­noons.

The gen­tle­man had the courts to them­selves on Tues­day evening, with some lively ral­lies from Rick Galea, Keith Miles, Tad Now­icki, Norm Hold and John Lee.

Car­dio ten­nis on Tues­day morn­ing did a tight work­out, while on Tues­day evening car­dio the courts were a blast with 12 run­ning wildly around en­joy­ing them­selves.

Thurs­day evening car­dio was not to be out done and the work rate was high and Fri­day morn­ing car­dio is gain­ing in mo­men­tum.

Coach­ing stars of the week were the Tues­day af­ter­noon pupils who train at the Proser­pine State school courts in­clud­ing Oliver Bold­is­ton, Jade and Ash­ley Botto, Katie McDon­ald, Trent Mur­ray, Sa­man­tha Gard­ner, Demi and Macey Cur­sio and Shayla Flynn.

HAV­ING A BALL: Ge­or­gia and Rayner Usher, Cooper Barker and Ko­han Mau en­joyed some fun in the sun at ten­nis train­ing last week.
