Family fun at tennis round robin
THE family round robin held earlier in the month and was a success with some great tennis being played.
Winners in division 1 were the father and son team of Stan and Darcy Larkin.
In division 2 brother and sister combination Georgia and Rhys Furhmann took first and in division 3, mum and son pairing of Kim Lindsey and Hayden Lindsey-Willmott finished on top.
The club will be holding another any combination goes round robin in early September.
In other news Monday junior social tennis had a big roll up of young players all taking to the courts and making the most of the pleasant weather conditions.
All players on the afternoon made an impact on the small courts.
On the full size courts it was the girls out in full force with Caitlyn Lindsey-Wilmott, Hayley Denmeade, Rebeka Beveridge, Sarah Davidson and Sienna Mau welcoming newcomer Samara Graham.
Social tennis was well attended on Saturday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon.
It was the ladies who led the way with wonderful rallying skills on both afternoons.
The gentleman had the courts to themselves on Tuesday evening, with some lively rallies from Rick Galea, Keith Miles, Tad Nowicki, Norm Hold and John Lee.
Cardio tennis on Tuesday morning did a tight workout, while on Tuesday evening cardio the courts were a blast with 12 running wildly around enjoying themselves.
Thursday evening cardio was not to be out done and the work rate was high and Friday morning cardio is gaining in momentum.
Coaching stars of the week were the Tuesday afternoon pupils who train at the Proserpine State school courts including Oliver Boldiston, Jade and Ashley Botto, Katie McDonald, Trent Murray, Samantha Gardner, Demi and Macey Cursio and Shayla Flynn.
