AUSSIE RULES SENIORS

DESPITE almost all of their team running out for their second game in a row the Whitsunday Sea Eagles managed to run the Northern beaches Magpies off their feet in their 23.10.148-9.14.68 win in Mackay on Saturday.

Player shortages meant almost every player running out for the seniors had also played for the reserves but the Sea Eagles pushed through to score an important win over their Mackay opponents.

Saturday’s win means the Sea Eagles are in fifth place on the ladder, just behind North Mackay who boasts a better win percentage.

The team face a tough task this weekend with an away game against the Moranbah Bulldogs on Saturday.

RESERVES

North Mackay were too good for the Sea Eagles on Saturday, running home to a comfortable 50-point win at the Magpies Sports Park.

A slow start hurt the Sea Eagles and after giving up a four goal lead in the fourth quarter they were unable to work their way back into the contest.

With only two games left in the season the reserves will want to build some winning form before finals but face a tough task this weekend against the Eastern Swans.
