Springfest festival on at Wintermoon site
THIS year’s Springfest in the Pocket will be held at the Wintermoon Festival site on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1.
Springfest is a musical weekend gathering put on by Mackay Community Gardens to support and encourage local musicians.
The festival unofficially kicks off next Friday at 6pm and organisers have been flooded with requests from artists, which allows festival goers to be entertained by various musical talents in a jam type session stage for an extra nominal fee.
Next Saturday’s program will begin around 10am with a welcome to the country as local indigenous elders and dancers open the festival.
The day continues through to midnight where crowds entertained by various well known artists including The Fat Cigar Fiesta Band, Taylor and Silk, Peace and Plenty, Swoon, David Flower, Caroline Trengove and many others.
Food will be provided with the well-known Wintermoon pizzas available all weekend, plus other items can be purchased through the Moonshine Cafe.
As well as all the live music and dance, there will be a wheelbarrow race, raffles, and lots of sunshine and good times.
No alcohol will be sold on site but guest can bring their own.
The camping ticket sales have been capped to allow for a small in- timate crowd and you can sleep in your car.
Designated fire places will be available and dogs are not permitted on site.
