Island owner’s son chooses Lindeman for special wedding
THE son of Lindeman Island’s new owner married his high school sweetheart on the island.
William Han, a Chinese-born Australian mining investor whose family company runs one of China's largest advertising enterprises, bought the island last year.
Mr Han’s son, Calvin married his partner Anning on Lindeman, with Mr Han skydiving in for the ceremony with the help of the team at Skydive Airlie Beach.
Mrs Han arrived via a helicopter from Hamilton Island Air.
William Han said the set up was beyond expectations with great feedback from friends and family who were amazed by the day.
“We are so proud of our son, and welcome Anning into the Han family,” he said.
The couple met and fell in love at high school in China and chose to marry on Lindeman Island, saying it held a very special place in their hearts.
The uninterrupted views of the Whitsunday islands were made even more special with the arrival of three humpback whales which frolicked behind the guests as they enjoyed their gourmet lunch.
The wedding was organised by Helen Hinschen and Rozie Graham of Total Weddings.
General manager of Total Weddings Ms Hinschen said the wedding was nothing short of spectacular and the Total Weddings team were honoured to be a part of it.
The happy couple both agreed that the day was more than they could have imagined, with perfect weather and an intimate celebration with close family and friends. The happy couple have returned to China and are looking forward to returning to the Whitsundays soon.
