Getting ready for Airlie triathlon
WITH only 10 days to go until the 2013 Airlie Beach triathlon teams from across the Whitsundays are getting ready to run on August, September 1.
Paramedic Ian Radford and his fellow ambulance officers are being joined by the Whitsunday firies as they run in the triathlon to raise funds for Logan’s Adventure Playground.
“We know what an uphill battle fundraising can be and this is a great way to help out a community project that will benefit all families,” he said.
Race organiser Stephen Jackson said a splash and dash practice event will be held at the Cannonvale State School this Friday from 3.30pm.
RUNNING FOR A REASON: Michael Okulov, Amber Batson, Jess Jackling, Clare Thomsen, Ian Radford (back), Nah Turnbull, Teodora Dale, Miranda Ballinger, Heather Ewing and Kellie Butterworth (front) are all running in the Airlie Beach triathlon for Logan's Adventure Playground.
