Excitement building for first drifting competition
THE first ever drifting competition at the Whitsunday Raceway will be held this weekend by the Mackay and District Drifters (MADDINC).
MADDINC has had regular practice drifting days at the raceway just outside of Pro- serpine but things will step up a level this Saturday as they hold their first ever competition.
All competition entry fees will be given back as prize money on the day.
The clipping point comp is not a tandem competition, as there are a lot of drivers with varying abilities and event organisers didn’t want to see cars written off in the first competition.
The simple clipping point competition will see awarded points for hitting each clipping point and the winner at the end of the day will be the driver with the most points.
All the top drivers from the competition will qualify for entry into the tandem event at the end of the year.
Entry is a $30 on top of the normal entry fee in the competition component and there will be open practice on the day for those not wanting to enter the competition, so all drivers will get plenty of track time. For more information should visit www.facebook.com/mackaydrift.
