Thanks doctor

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

I WANT to say a heartfelt thank you to Dr Mike McFall for his many years of dedicated service to the Whitsundays community. Mike began practising medicine in Airlie Beach 10 years ago, spent some time in Bowen, and eventually achieved his dream of improving local medical services by opening his own practice in Cannonvale a few years ago. His vision to bring new services (eg. the mole scan machine) and provide a medical hub by having ancillary services close by (pathology and X-ray) was finally achieved. Mike was an exceptional GP. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, caring and always took time to listen to his patients concerns. His patients never felt rushed or unimportant, and all his patients appreciated his genuine caring manner. For those seriously ill patients he was always happy to provide his personal phone number so they had 24/7 access to their doctor - yes, he went that extra mile to provide his patients with the best possible care. He was well liked in the medical profession, and in the community and a genuine good bloke. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. So thank you Mike, for your help and friendship over many years. I can only wish you all the very best for the future as you battle your own ill health. Sandra Williams AIRLIE BEACH
