Tip­ping com­ing to a close

IN THE sec­ond last round of the AFL sea­son, Air­lie Fit­ness owner Corey Whi­b­ley picked a per­fect nine from nine in the Whit­sun­day Times tip­ping com­pe­ti­tion.

Whi­b­ley’s per­fect round was his sec­ond in this year’s com­pe­ti­tion and gave his yearly to­tal a wel­come boost ahead of the fi­nal round this week­end.

Steve McDon­ald from the Air­lie Beach Mu­sic Cen­tre is in a com­mand­ing po­si­tion head­ing into the fi­nal round and looks cer­tain to fin­ish as the over­all win­ner.

McDon­ald leads the way on 143 points, well clear of Team Kerr from Ray White Whit­sun­day on 136 and last year’s champ, Mas­ter Butchers Whit­sun­day’s Don Cameron on 134.

In the NRL tip­ping com­pe­ti­tion Reef Cool Air-Con­di­tion­ing’s Justin An­drews is lead­ing the way on 121 with two rounds left.

An­drews will be hop- ing to hold off late charges from Kevin Cooper from Coop’s Ex­ca­va­tion (115) and Air­lie Beach Tyres’ Jeremy Power on 108.

The win­ner of the NRL com­pe­ti­tion will re­ceive a grand fi­nal pack­age for two in­clud­ing flights, tick­ets and ac­com­mo­da­tion and the win­ner of the AFL comp will take home a pack­age from Betta Home Liv­ing in Can­non­vale.
