Last call for bachelors to bring love to town

Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

AIRLIE Beach is on a shortlist of towns to be featured in a new reality television show titled ‘When Love Comes to Town’.

The show will set 12 single, city girls on a nationwide search to find “the one” in some of the most beautiful and picturesque regions of Australia.

The girls will date the guys, meet their friends and family and spend time in what could be their new home.

Ultimately they must decide whether to stay in the town and pursue a relationship, or try to find love with another man in the next town.

The show has already aired in Europe with great success. One German couple are engaged and six couples from the French version are still together.

The Australian version, which is a Southern Star Entertainment production for the WIN Network, will air on Channel 9 in early 2014 and would be filmed in the last three months of this year.

Getaway and Farmer Wants a Wife presenter Natalie Gruzlewski has been announced as the host. Producers have been calling for eligible bachelors in regional towns and they say a few have applied from Airlie Beach, but more are wanted.

The show is open to men from all walks of life, including tour operators, skippers, divers, pilots, miners, teachers, policemen, firemen, chefs, hotel staff and more.

Applications close tomorrow, Friday September 6.
