Chamber plans holiday program
THE newly formed Airlie Beach Chamber of Commerce is busy finalising plans for a two-week school holiday program which will offer daily activities at low or no cost to locals and visitors.
The initiative will run from Monday, September 23- Sunday, October 6 and will include many activities including a guided 10,000 steps walk, aerobics on the beach, kids art classes, lilo races, music by buskers, tug of war challenges, barefoot bowls, table tennis challenges, face painting, cupcake decorating, cooking and cocktail lessons, walkway chalk art, teenage discos, kite making lessons, and a daily kids club.
Printed holiday programs are expected to be finalised this week and will be distributed to accommodation houses, travel agents and local schools prior to the holidays.
Local families are also encouraged to join in the fun.
Volunteers are still needed to assist with the running of some activities and interested locals are asked to contact ABCC vice president Heidi Ward on 0407 740 673 if they are willing to help.
Local businesses interested in becoming members of the chamber should email email@example.com.
