Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

SWIMMERS from both Cannonvale Cannons and Whitsunday Swim Clubs combined swim training over the winter months but will be returning to their usual routines this week.

Both clubs have signons and club nights this week with swim training at both Proserpine and Cannonvale pools.

Cannonvale swimmers Charlotte Mitchell, Ivan Van Zyl and Emma Hogan travelled south over the weekend to compete in the Queensland State Short Course championships in Brisbane.

Coach Mark Erickson said the three swimmers trained extremely hard over the winter and were looking forward to achieving their goals at state.

On Friday afternoon, assistant coach Ken Crittenden presented certificates to swimmers who trained extremely well in August.

The three swimmers were Emma Hogan (absent), Hannah Crittenden and Harry Turner.

Swimmers are now preparing for the busy swim season ahead with a number of members competing in the Airlie Beach triathlon over the weekend.

New swimmers are always welcome to trial at squad training.

Squad training is at Proserpine and Cannonvale pools starting from 3.30pm most weekdays.
