WFC ground out draw against Magpies
WHITSUNDAY FC’s division 1 men’s team were the club’s only team in action on the weekend as they fought out a gutsy 2-2 draw with Magpies in Mackay.
Scores were locked up at 2-2 at half time and neither team were able to break the deadlock in the second half.
WFC missed a golden opportunity from the penalty spot and also had two goals disallowed in an exciting 90 minutes of football.
Matthew Page was a standout for the visiting team and took out the Harvey Norman player of the match award. All teams are in action this weekend with the division 1 men taking on City Brothers at 3.30pm on Saturday at Magpies and the premier men later in the night at 7pm against Magpies.
The women play at Rangers home ground on Sunday, taking on Magpies White at 10am.
