WFC ground out draw against Mag­pies

WHIT­SUN­DAY FC’s di­vi­sion 1 men’s team were the club’s only team in ac­tion on the week­end as they fought out a gutsy 2-2 draw with Mag­pies in Mackay.

Scores were locked up at 2-2 at half time and nei­ther team were able to break the dead­lock in the sec­ond half.

WFC missed a golden op­por­tu­nity from the penalty spot and also had two goals dis­al­lowed in an ex­cit­ing 90 min­utes of football.

Matthew Page was a stand­out for the vis­it­ing team and took out the Harvey Nor­man player of the match award. All teams are in ac­tion this week­end with the di­vi­sion 1 men tak­ing on City Broth­ers at 3.30pm on Satur­day at Mag­pies and the pre­mier men later in the night at 7pm against Mag­pies.

The women play at Rangers home ground on Sun­day, tak­ing on Mag­pies White at 10am.
