Donations to improve lifestyle in nursing home
A NEW dishwasher, oven and some bakeware were some of the items donated to the Proserpine Nursing Home on Monday.
Proserpine Lions Club secretary Horace Lowbridge presented the donations on behalf of the service club and said they would be used in the new Lifestyle Therapy Unit at the nursing home.
Lifestyle co-ordinator Nancy Bellert said the donations were exceptional and extremely generous of the club.
Mr Lowbridge said the club had raised the funds for the appliances with the help of the local community and was happy it was going to a worthy cause.
“The residents absolutely loved the gifts and I have never seen so much joy on their faces,” he said.
The Proserpine Lions Club is always looking for new men and women members to get involved with their activities.
They meet at the Proserpine RSL Club at 6.45pm on the first and third Wednesday of every month and new members are welcome to attend.
