Go-karters ready for cham­pi­onships

SOME of the state’s best go-kart driv­ers are gear­ing up for the Queens­land Closed State Ti­tles to be held at the Whit­sun­day Race­way on Satur­day, Septem­ber 2829.

The two day event will see be­gin­ners right up to the very best vet­er­ans of the sport hit­ting the track to show­case their skills as they chase a podium fin­ish.

Round 6 of the Whit­sun­day Moto Sports Club kart cham­pi­onships ear­lier this month was a visual treat of clean po­si­tion changes and fierce com­pe­ti­tion and event or­gan­is­ers are ex­pect­ing some high qual­ity rac­ing over the week­end.

Club sec­re­tary Tracey Stroud said 150 go-kart driv­ers from across the state were ex­pected to at­tend the event which is open to all Queens­land kart li­cence hold­ers.

She said ev­ery driver nom­i­na­tion will also go into the draw to win a Yamaha J motor and many other great prizes.

There will be two un­of­fi­cial prac­tice ses­sions held at the Whit­sun­day Race­way on Septem­ber 25-26, with an of­fi­cial prac­tice sched­uled for Fri­day, Septem­ber 27.

The state ti­tles is open to all classes and all spec­ta­tors are wel­come to join in for an ac­tion-packed week­end and make the most of the can­teen, bar and jump­ing cas­tle for the kids.
