Go-karters ready for championships
SOME of the state’s best go-kart drivers are gearing up for the Queensland Closed State Titles to be held at the Whitsunday Raceway on Saturday, September 2829.
The two day event will see beginners right up to the very best veterans of the sport hitting the track to showcase their skills as they chase a podium finish.
Round 6 of the Whitsunday Moto Sports Club kart championships earlier this month was a visual treat of clean position changes and fierce competition and event organisers are expecting some high quality racing over the weekend.
Club secretary Tracey Stroud said 150 go-kart drivers from across the state were expected to attend the event which is open to all Queensland kart licence holders.
She said every driver nomination will also go into the draw to win a Yamaha J motor and many other great prizes.
There will be two unofficial practice sessions held at the Whitsunday Raceway on September 25-26, with an official practice scheduled for Friday, September 27.
The state titles is open to all classes and all spectators are welcome to join in for an action-packed weekend and make the most of the canteen, bar and jumping castle for the kids.
