Long Is­land Re­sort joins Breakfree brand

THE Long Is­land Re­sort has joined the BreakFree brand port­fo­lio af­ter en­ter­ing in to a mar­ket­ing ser­vices agree­ment, ef­fec­tive from Oc­to­ber 1.

It will now be known as BreakFree Long Is­land Re­sort, the 140 room prop­erty caters to fam­i­lies and cou­ples and pro­vides a su­perb lo­ca­tion for wed­dings.

Win­ner of the 2010 Queens­land Tourism award for best stan­dard ac­com­mo­da­tion, the re­sort will be­come the 27th in the BreakFree net­work across Aus­tralia and New Zea­land.

Re­sort own­ers, Ocean Ho­tels and Tourism, are keen to ben­e­fit from the well-known brand and dis­tri­bu­tion chan­nels avail­able.

Group sales and mar­ket­ing man­ager Alex Blake said they are ex­cited to be en­ter­ing in to the agree­ment with Mantra Group un­der their BreakFree brand and be­lieve it of­fers an ex­cel­lent op­por­tu­nity to in­crease their ex­po­sure in the com­pet­i­tive Aus­tralian ac­com­mo­da­tion mar­ket.

The agree­ment does not rep­re­sent a change of man­age­ment, with all whole­sale, in­bound, do­mes­tic and on­line con­tract­ing and trade sales, as well as ex­ist­ing mar­ket­ing ar­range­ments, con­tin­u­ing to be man­aged di­rectly by the Ocean Ho­tels and Tourism sales and mar­ket­ing team, headed by Mr Blake.

The agree­ment es­sen­tially pro­vides ac­cess to the Mantra Group’s mar­ket­ing chan­nels.

Mantra Group CEO, Bob East said BreakFree Long Is­land Re­sort em­bod­ies the brands of­fer­ings.

“BreakFree prides it­self on be­ing a qual­ity, cost-ef­fec­tive ac­com­mo­da­tion op­tion for trav­ellers in ex­cep­tional lo­ca­tions and Long Is­land is an ex­cel­lent rep­re­sen­ta­tion of this that I'm sure will be well re­ceived by our guests,” he said.
