Paul Bow­man league on chal­lenge this week­end

THE sixth an­nual Paul Bow­man Chal­lenge is on this week­end at the Proser­pine ju­nior rugby league grounds.

A record num­ber of teams will be com­pet­ing in the two day car­ni­val which in­cor­po­rates the Sam Faust me­mo­rial re­lay. Teams are trav­el­ling from as far north as Cairns, west to the Gem Fields and as far south as Bris­bane to make the 40 team line up.

The un­der-9 car­ni­val is hosted by the Proser­pine/Whit­sun­day Ju­nior Rugby League Club to hon­our the ca­reer of lo­cal born NRL and Queens­land Player Paul Bow­man.

The car­ni­val is all about pro­mot­ing the game of rugby league with the main fo­cus on par­tic­i­pa­tion and fun.

The car­ni­val is held at the ju­nior sport­ing com­plex with gates open at 8am and has free ad­mis­sion on both days.
