Strong fin­ish for ju­nior ten­nis

MON­DAY af­ter­noon ju­nior so­cial ten­nis fin­ished term three on a high with both the small courts and full-size courts brim­ming with chil­dren.

This has been a fan­tas­tic term for ju­nior ten­nis with num­bers now around 35 ju­niors tak­ing part.

The club thanked club pres­i­dent Les­ley Nolan and vol­un­teers Hi­lary Marsh, Gor­don Brown and Sally Ban­nis­ter for as­sist­ing.

Ju­nior so­cial ten­nis will be in re­cess over the school holidays.

The young­sters who trav­elled to Townsville on the week­end to com­pete in the A Fi­nals came up against some very strong com­pe­ti­tion.

The club con­grat­u­lated Amy Hunger­ford, Re­beka Bev­eridge, Emma Bradtke, Si­enna Mau and Trent Mur­ray for their sports­man­ship.

Adult so­cial ten­nis was well at­tended on Tues­day and Satur­day af­ter­noon while Tues­day and Thurs­day night were down on num­bers and would love to see some new faces.

The Car­dio Ten­nis ses­sions were there usual fran­tic af­fair.

Kristie Usher did a fan­tas­tic work­out on Tues­day morn­ing, the Lat­ter fam­ily were in force on Thurs­day night while on Fri­day morn­ing Trish Rouse worked hard.

Coach­ing pupil of the week was Jor­dan Men­zies who was re­ally fo­cused for his les­son.

The Whit­sun­day Ten­nis school holidays ten­nis camp is on the first week of the school holidays morn­ings.
