Young riders in im­pres­sive form

THE past month has seen younger riders from the Proser­pine Pony Club pick­ing up great re­sults at Gymkhanas in Collinsville and Bowen.

The Collinsville Gymkhana saw Baylee and Reigan Evans hav­ing great re­sults over the two day event. On Satur­day Baylee re­ceived cham­pion rider of the day and on Sun­day Reigan re­ceived the cham­pion rider award and Baylee came be­hind in re­serve cham­pion rider.

Baylee and Reigan were both age cham­pi­ons at the Collinsville Gymkhana with Baylee the high point rider on Satur­day and run­ner-up on Sun­day.

Reigan took out the high point award on the Sun­day. Tyla, Reigan and Baylee Evans all com­peted at Bowen Gymkhana where Reigan won age cham­pion for the unas­sisted un­der-7 age group and also re­ceived cham­pion rider of the week­end.

Baylee re­ceived age cham­pion for the 7 and un­der-9 age group and re­ceived run­nerup cham­pion of the week­end.

Five-year-old Tyla Evans rode in the unas­sisted un­der-7 age group and rode well to pick up some rib­bons.

The club is now look­ing for­ward to host­ing the North Queens­land Eques­trian and New­comer Hack Show at their home grounds this week­end.

TOP RE­SULTS: Proser­pine Pony Club mem­ber Baylee Evans picked up a num­ber of awards at the Collinsville Gymkhana af­ter im­press­ing the judges with her skills.

BLACK BELT: Lo­cal South Pa­cific Taek­wondo stu­dent Eva Lorenz earned her black belt af­ter a re­cent grad­ing ses­sion in Bowen.
