Beer cafe gearing up for Oktoberfest
OKTOBERFEST fever will once again hit Denman Cellars as they prepare to celebrate the German festival of beer and food.
The worldwide festival is returning to the Whitsundays with the beer café ready to make the second festival they’ve held the best yet.
The traditional German festival celebrating beer and food will run on Saturday and Sunday October 12-13 at the popular Port of Airlie venue, from 10am until late both days.
There will be a special German tapas menu, including beer braised pork belly, grilled kasler with braised sauerkraut, German beer bread and mixed German sausages.
Beer tastings, live music, and fun competitions will be offered at the two day festival and there are heaps of awesome prizes up for grabs.
Along with the venue’s 650 varieties of beers, wines and spirits, the celebration will feature a range of limited-edi- tion Oktoberfest-only beers.
Denmans will be decked out like a German beer hall, with traditional long tables and benches and everyone is invited to get in the spirit by dressing in their best German-inspired gear and take part in fun competitions like stein carrying to win some fantastic prizes.
Staff will also be dressing in their best Oktoberfest outfits to help everyone get in the mood to celebrate this different style of festival in the Whitsundays.
