Locals impress on home track
ROUND three of the Cane to Coast Titles was hosted by the Whitsunday Dirt Riders at Dray’s Park on Sunday.
The annual series consists of four rounds, with each round hosted by one of the four clubs that contest the titles, Gum Valley, Moranbah, Mackay and Whitsunday.
Local riders Liam McMullin and Hale Harrison were among the youngest riders of the 75 in attendance on the day, competing in the demonstration class for 4-9-year-olds.
Wilson Norman was one of the best performing locals, finishing first in the 85cc class and first in the junior lites, ahead of team-mate Sean Wynne who finished fourth.
Ashley Norman was first in the senior lites ahead of fellow local Carl Goss in third.
In the ladies Georgia Murray rode well to finish in fourth overall while Riley Norman was second in the senior opens.
In the unlimited class Ashley Norman was first ahead of runner-up Carl Goss and third placegetter Riley Norman.
