Light winds in twilight race

Whitsunday Times - - ON THE WATER -

LIGHT breeze made last Wednesday’s twilight race slower than usual.

Spirit, sailed by Jason Gard, returned to play in the race and managed to get ahead of Rum Raider, Scott Millar, for a comfortable win on line honours and corrected time in Division 1.

After a tightly bunched start, Tulip, Bernie van’t Hof, used the light weather to his advantage and was a clear line honours winner in Division 2.

Treasure VIII, Harold Menelaus, and Queensland Marine Services, John Galloway came in behind.

On corrected time, Tulip was first, with Queensland Marine Services and Sandpiper, Chris Chengody, in second and third.

Lorna Rose Too, Pete Mitchelson, sailed very well in Division 3 to take line honours.

On corrected time however, Defiance, Mark Thompson, managed to take the win with Lorna Rose Too second and Bluenose, Henry Kelder, in third place.
