Lights dam­aged when car rolls

A 33-YEAR-OLD Can­non­vale man re­ceived mi­nor in­juries when he rolled his Toy­ota land cruiser at the in­ter­sec­tion of Shute Har­bour Road and Paluma Road in Can­non­vale last Wed­nes­day night.

The man lost con­trol of the car about 10.30pm, rolling across the in­ter­sec­tion and dam­ag­ing a set on traf­fic lights.

Can­no­vale res­i­dents who heard the crash ran out onto the street to help the driver from his car.

The man re­ceived first aid treat­ment at the scene from the Queens­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice.

A small amount of fuel from the car had spilled onto the road and was cleaned by Queens­land Fire and Res­cue Ser­vice of­fi­cers.

The dam­aged traf­fic light was re­paired on Thurs­day morn­ing.

Act­ing of­fi­cer in charge of Whit­sun­day Po­lice Sta­tion, Nathan Blain, said al­co­hol was not a con­tribut­ing fac­tor and po­lice were still in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cause of the ac­ci­dent.
