Lo­cal driv­ers im­press at state ti­tles

ABOUT 160 driv­ers from right across Queens­land com­peted in the Queens­land Closed State Ti­tles held at the Whit­sun­day Race­way on the week­end.

Driv­ers came from all parts of the state to take to the track just out­side of Proser­pine as the kart­ing sec­tion of the Whit­sun­day Moto Sports Club hosted one of its big­gest ever meet­ings.

There were some fan­tas­tic re­sults for lo­cal driv­ers with Justin Fraser, Jake Downs, Darcy Robb, Leo Ro­driguez, Adam Stroud, Robert Thor­burn and Dale McDonnell all fin­ish­ing the fi­nal within the top five of the state.

Kart­ing pres­i­dent Adam Stroud was also fastest qual­i­fier for the week­end in his class.

GREAT RE­SULTS: Jordan McGre­gor (1st in ju­nior light), Lach­lan Hughes (1st in cadets) and Jay McGre­gor (3rd in rook­ies) with their tro­phies af­ter the Queens­land Closed Kart­ing Ti­tles pre­sen­ta­tion on Sun­day.

TOO FAST: Lo­cal karter De­clan Fraser fin­ished first over­all and was the fastest qual­i­fier in the rook­ies di­vi­sion at the Queens­land Closed Ti­tles held at the Whit­sun­day Race­way on the week­end.

TOP TWO: Run­ner-up Lewis Her­win and win­ner Jake Downs with their tro­phies af­ter com­pet­ing in the ju­nior club­man di­vi­sion of the Queens­land Closed Ti­tles at the Whit­sun­day Race­way.
