Northerlies at twilight
A 10-KNOT northerly breeze blew for competitors in last Wednesday’s Whitsunday Sailing Club twilight race.
Overdrive (Rupert King), narrowly won the start from Quickskips (Peter Millar), in Division 1.
Quickskips won on line honours, but was overtaken by Overdrive on corrected time by 20 seconds.
Wobbly Boot (Craig Piccinelli), had the best start in Division 2, however Tulip (Bernie van’t Hof) and Storm 2 (Don Algie), soon took the lead. At the end of the race, Tulip was first home but taken over on corrected time by Storm 2, followed by Twister (Kevin Fogarty) and Another Fiasco (Damian Suckling), close behind in third.
Riff Raff (Dan White), enjoyed the afternoon’s conditions to win on line honours and corrected time in Division 3, followed by Lorna Rose Too (Pete Mitchelson) in second and Serendipity (Rodger Boast), in third.
