Close calls in club champs

The A grade winner was Geoff Harrison on nett 73, ahead of runner-up Peter Browning on 74 on a count back. Ross Richards had the best gross score. B grade was won by George Meharry with an impressive 65, three clear of runner-up Mark Winter on 68. Best gross score came from Ernie Holstein. The Whitsunday golfers gave former club captain and events organiser Darren Williams a fond farewell as he departed the Whitsundays to travel to Western Australia to link up with old friends.
Next Sunday will be the second and deciding round of the club championships with tee off at 7.30am.
The following weekend is the trip away to play the Magnetic Island course.
