Proser­pine ju­niors busy over hol­i­days

PROSER­PINE TEN­NIS

JU­NIORS from the Proser­pine Ten­nis Club have been busy with tour­na­ments and coach­ing clin­ics dur­ing the Septem­ber school hol­i­days.

Mika Stim­son, Kim­berly Azul, Seth Trinder and Cal­lam Ogilvie-Al­cock at­tended the 2013 Head Queens­land State Age Tour­na­ment at Rock­hamp­ton for the first four days of the school break.

Mika, Kim, Seth and Cal­lam then re­turned home to join 30 other ju­niors at a three-day coach­ing clinic con­ducted by Brad Clews and Tay­lor Dou­glas, as­sisted by lo­cal Cather­ine Cas­sells, Chelsea Olditch and Ryan Sch­wab vis­it­ing from Townsville.

Proser­pine ju­niors were in good hands with Ryan Sch­wab who won the un­der-16 men’s sin­gles state ti­tle at the Head Rock­hamp­ton State Age Tour­na­ment and fin­ished as run­ner-up in the dou­bles.

More of the Proser­pine ju­niors are now play­ing at the Er­gon NQ Age Cham­pi­onships in Townsville which con­cludes on Tues­day.

Proser­pine ju­nior fixtures recom­mence in the se­cond week of term 4.

Coach­ing re­sumes on Fri­day, 11 Oc­to­ber.
