A LOCAL bodybuilder has taken out the title of Miss Queensland Masters Figure Champion held on the Gold Coast last weekend.

Owner of Prince of Wales Hotel Helen Longmuir has now qualified for the national championships to be held in Sydney on Sunday, October 13.

The epic single day event welcomed six of the best figure models from across the state.

Longmuir said state competitions were always a challenge with the best athletes battling it out on the Australian stage.

“I thought it was a good event to enter because I’m now heading into nationals posi- tioned as first in the state,” she said.

“I placed second at the national championships last year and I am hoping to regain my title at the event this year.”

Longmuir recently competed in the North Queensland Titles held at Jupiter’s Casino in Townsville, taking out first place in Open Figure and second in Figure International divisions.

She celebrated her 60th figure competition in five and a half years at the event, which is a great achievement.

Longmuir currently holds 23 figure titles including Olympia World Champion, Asia Pacific and Australian Champion.
