Cat registrations

Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

WHITSUNDAY Regional Council has resolved to continue with cat registrations, despite being given the chance by the State Government to “opt out”. Information provided to councillors at Tuesday’s ordinary meeting showed the estimated cost to Council of dealing with cat complaints in the 2012-13 period was about $58k. It was therefore considered that continuing to register cats would support the costs in implementing Council’s animal management laws in a way that was consistent with community expectations and protected animal welfare.
