Drivers prepare for Khanacross champs
HIGH speed car racing will return to the Whitsunday Raceway and Proserpine’s Tonker Park Raceway for the Mixed Title Khanacross Championships which will take place on October 19 and 20.
The two-day event will see competitors battle it out on the tarmac course of the Whitsunday Raceway on the Saturday and face the challenging offroad course of Tonker Park Raceway on Sunday.
All drivers must have a Level 2 Non Speed Licence and hold a current club membership to race and both must be available on the day.
All competitors and their passengers must also wear a AS1698 helmet and enclosed footwear.
Experienced club members will be on hand to take willing passengers on hot laps for $20 per person.
Weekend passes can be purchased for $100 or single day passes for bitumen entry is $80, dirt entry fee is $50 and juniors are half price.
Scrutineering will be held at 7.30am with racing to start at 9.30am.
All spectators are welcome to attend the event for free.
Camping is available over the weekend and new hot shower and toilet facilities will be provided by the Whitsunday Sporting Car Club.
All drivers must have their vehicles oiled, coolant and fuel leak free with nominations closing on Wednesday, October 16 at 5pm. Competitors can register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by visiting www.facebook.com/WSCClub.
