The main race, the Telstra Whitsunday Bowen Cup (last race of the day) was won by number 6, Ariston.

The owner/trainer and strapper is Lyn Manzelmann of Brisbane, formerly of Mackay.

The 1800m distance and conditions on the day suited the horse and helped it to a win. Mr Vains said the that overall day was great and also thanked the crowd for their good behaviour.
