Cou­ple re­turn for dream wed­ding

FOR­MER Air­lie Beach res­i­dent Kate Thorn­ton re­turned to the Whit­sun­days to marry Christof­fel Sny­man in the pavil­ion at the Penin­sula Apart­ments in Shin­g­ley Beach.

A cock­tail re­cep­tion fol­lowed at Wa­ter­line on Shin­g­ley host­ing 45 guests.

Kate said many guests trav­elled from in­ter­state and New Zealand for the wed­ding, de­scrib­ing the feel­ing of be­ing sur­rounded by so many lov­ing fam­ily and friends as a ma­jor high­light.

“We wanted a re­ally low-key wed­ding and my par­ents in­sisted that we came home for it so they se­lected the venue and left our fam­ily mem­bers in charge of tak­ing pho­tos. It was just per­fect,” she said.

“Christo’s fa­ther Paul read a beau­ti­ful scrip­ture which brought a few tears to ev­ery­one’s eyes.”

Kate is the daugh­ter of long-term Air­lie Beach res­i­dents Brad and Leone Bowring.

The happy cou­ple re­turned home to Bris­bane af­ter the wed­ding and are look­ing for­ward to cel­e­brat­ing their hon­ey­moon in Las Ve­gas next year.
