Whitsunday voices on Queensland Plan

Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

WHITSUNDAY mayor Jennifer Whitney was part of a delegation representing the region at last week’s Queensland Plan Summit in Brisbane.

Local Whitsunday business representatives Greg McKinnon from Cannonvale’s Big 4 Adventure Resort and Michael Brown from Bowen’s Queens Beach Mo- tor Hotel accompanied the mayor to contribute to the 30-year vision for the state.

Cr Whitney said attending the two-day summit allowed the region’s representatives to be part of the state-wide collaborative process to better the future of Queensland.

“As part of the summit we were required to identify our key focus areas, with education, economic development and regionalisation considered priorities for the region,” she said.

Cr Whitney said the overall priorities to come out of the plan would “help us to build our communities and ensure Queensland has a strong economic outlook”.
