Great turn out for junior touch
MORE than 60 kids turned up for the first week of the Whitsunday Touch Association’s (WTA) junior program
There were 15 in the prep-year 2 division (coached by Nick Haratsis, Scott Nancarrow and Joel McBride), 15 in the grade 3-4 division (coached by Steve Ward and Derek Harrington), 25 in the grade 5-6 division (coached by Zac Hoffman) and five for the grade 7-8 division.
Coaches put the kids through a warm up, some skill drills and then a game over their hour and there was a sausage sizzle so all kids went home fed and worn out with games and training finished at 6pm.
The club is still looking for more players, particularly in the eldest group, as well as volunteers from the parents or senior touch players.
People can help with coaching or in the canteen cooking sausages and serving drinks and anyone interested should come up to the canteen or email email@example.com.
Many players paid their mo- ney on the night but all players parents must register their kids online whether they have paid or not.
Players can register and pay by credit card or select that they’ll pay cash this Monday by going to the Whitsunday Touch Facebook page or www.whitsunday.nqtouch.com.au.
