Drift day using track in reverse

Whitsunday Times - - MOTORING -

AHEAD of the Mackay and District Drifters Incorporated's (MADDINC) inaugural tandem competition at the end of the year (December 21), the club will be holding another clipping competition and practice session this Saturday, October 26.

Drivers from across Queensland will face a new challenge this time around with the track at Whitsunday Raceway being run in reverse for the first time.

There will be some great prizes up for grabs for place getters in the competition but there will also be plenty of track time for those drivers that are simply looking to get in a bit of drifting practice.

Spectators can also have their own drifting experience with passenger runs available on the day.

Drift Sessions 6 will be the second time MADDINC have held a clipping competition as they look to add new challenges to the art of drifting and work towards holding the highly anticipated tandem competition at the end of the year.

For more information visit www.facebook.com/mackaydrift or contact MADDINC committee member Jay Mcculloch on 0448 250 381.

CATCH MY DRIFT: Pete Young slides around a corner during Whitsunday Matsuri at the Whitsunday Raceway last year. Drifting returns to the track with a meet planned for this weekend.
