RACQ urges driver to properly plan trips
THE RACQ is urging its 1.3 million members and other Queensland motorists to tap into the Club’s resources to get ready for the summer holidays, and the storm and cyclone season.
RACQ executive manager technical and safety policy Steve Spalding said the motoring club was actively supporting the Queensland government’s Get Ready Campaign, which encourages Queenslanders to prepare for storms, cyclones and bushfires.
“With the Christmas holidays approaching it’s important to be prepared for everything from breakdowns at the roadside to large scale natural disasters,” Mr Spalding said.
“By reducing your risks and preparing for the worst, you’ll be in a far better position to deal with, and recover from, a life threatening disaster. Whether you’re heading off on a road trip or staying at home over the summer, there are some key actions you can take to safeguard yourself and your loved ones.”
Mr Spalding said those planning a road trip could seek advice from RACQ’s fact sheets on the website.
He said motorists should check the following list before setting off.
